Affiliate disclosure
How TechPulse uses affiliate links and why affiliate revenue never influences our reporting.
What this page covers
This page explains the affiliate relationships TechPulse maintains, how we mark affiliate links, and the editorial separation that prevents commission from influencing our reporting. We keep it short on purpose.
Programs we participate in
- Amazon Services LLC Associates Program— affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.
- Apple Services Performance Partners— pays commission on AppleCare, Apple Music, Apple TV+, iCloud, and App Store purchases.
- Best Buy (Impact)— pays commission on consumer electronics purchases routed through BestBuy.com.
- Accessory makers (dbrand, Casetify, others) — when those programs are open and we're accepted.
- Major US carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) — via Impact / CJ Affiliate. Commission may be paid on device activation or trade-in flow when the programs approve this site.
How affiliate links are marked
Every outbound product link on TechPulse is automatically checked at build time. If the link's hostname matches a recognized commerce domain (amazon.com, apple.com, bestbuy.com, dbrand.com, casetify.com, etc.), the link is rewritten to:
- Append the appropriate tracking token (e.g. Amazon Associates
?tag=parameter). - Add
rel="sponsored noopener noreferrer"to comply with Google's guidelines and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guides (16 CFR Part 255). - Open in a new tab (
target="_blank").
Internal links, news sources (Bloomberg, The Information, 9to5Mac, etc.), and unrelated external links are not modified.
Editorial independence
Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial coverage. We only link to products we would already recommend. If a product doesn't meet our bar, we don't link to it — affiliate or not.
Our editorial team is paid a salary and is not compensated based on which affiliate links readers click. Affiliate commissions help fund the site (hosting, tools, analyst subscriptions), but commission totals are never shared with the editorial team.
We do not accept paid placements, sponsored stories, paid reviews, or pre-briefings in exchange for coverage.
