What data we collect
1. Aggregate analytics (Plausible)
We use Plausible Analytics to count page views and referrers. Plausible is cookielessand does not collect any personal data. It does not track users across sites, does not store IP addresses, and does not use any persistent identifiers. The data we see is aggregated counts ("this page got 1,200 visits today from these countries") and never includes any information that could identify you personally.
Plausible's privacy policy: plausible.io/data-policy.
2. Detailed analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for richer traffic analysis (page engagement, scroll depth, outbound-click tracking). GA4 sets cookies on your device. The cookies are first-party (set on .techpulse.press) and used only by us — we do not share GA data with any third party.
GA4 data we collect: pages visited, referrer (the site you came from), device type, browser type, country + city (derived from your IP, which is not stored by us but is briefly processed by Google), and on-site interactions (clicks, scrolls).
Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of GA tracking with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
3. Server logs (Cloudflare Pages)
When you load any page on techpulse.press, our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) logs your IP address, user agent, and the requested URL. These logs are retained per Cloudflare's standard retention (typically 30 days for security logs) and are used for abuse prevention, traffic analysis, and infrastructure security. We do not sell or share server logs.
Cloudflare's privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
4. Affiliate click tracking
When you click an outbound product link to a retailer (Amazon, Apple, Best Buy, etc.), the retailer sets its own cookies to track the referral. The retailer receives your IP address and the fact that you came from TechPulse. The retailer may use that information per its own privacy policy and may share it with its advertising partners.
We do not control retailer tracking. See each retailer's privacy policy for details. Amazon: amazon.com/privacy.
5. Newsletter
The newsletter sign-up form is hosted by Beehiiv (third-party email platform). When you subscribe, you provide your email address to Beehiiv. We receive your email and engagement metrics (opens, clicks). Beehiiv's privacy policy: beehiiv.com/privacy. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every newsletter email.
