Which carriers sell the iPhone 18 Pro Max in Japan?

All four major Japanese carriers offer the iPhone 18 Pro Max:

Carrier	Pre-order	On-sale	Network
NTT Docomo	Sept 12, 0:00 JST	Sept 19	5G Sub-6 + mmWave
au (KDDI)	Sept 12, 0:00 JST	Sept 19	5G Sub-6

What is the cheapest way to buy iPhone 18 Pro Max in Japan?

Three cheapest options (Sept 11, 2026):

3. Apple Trade In — trade in iPhone 15 Pro / 16 Pro for ¥40,000-¥70,000 off the sim-free price. Highest trade-in values in Japan market.

For users who can wait, Yodobashi Camera and Bic Camera often offer 10-20% cash-back point campaigns within the first 2 weeks of launch. These stack with Apple Trade In for maximum savings.

• Camera shutter sound — cannot be disabled (Japan regulatory requirement)
• Pre-installed apps — Apple Store Japan sometimes includes Japan-specific app bundles

Otherwise, the hardware is identical to US / EU versions.
